This is our second pack of these. They don't break when you really twist them tight to hold hair. It works best on smaller sections of hair, but if you double or triple up, it will hold a pony tail pretty well. They are stretchy, so wouldn't suggest if you were doing really small sections of hair, as it will create a lot of lift on little tiny sections.
